Casey Knew

CASEY KNEW

In only days Casey knew
He would feel the warmth of font waters
On his skin
His thoughts of Jesus in his mind
And heart

In only days Casey knew
He would close his eyes
Place his small hand with his fathers
And hear the cleansing words spoken
From heaven
To his earthly father
To him

In only days Casey knew
He would go down into the water
As Christ had once
At the hands of John.
The example was set by his Savior
And Casey would follow

In only days Casey knew
Many hands would be placed on his head.
He would hear the words his Heavenly Father wanted him to know.
In his mind and heart
He would feel the first whisperings
Of wonder and joy
From the gift of the Holy Ghost

In only days Casey knew
He would be a member of Christ's church
A servant he would be
Helping those who hurt
Binding those lost sheep
As the Savior would

In only days Casey knew
He would begin his journey
By going through the gate of baptism.
He had been told this in Primary
And Casey knew he was ready.
